Re-District MapThe three Board of Larimer County Commissioner Districts are being re-drawn based on the Census 2010 population data. The goal is to balance the districts for population and therefore representation. The public can comment through August 28 by calling the County Commissioners' Office at (970) 498- 7010.

The public has until July 29, 2011, to comment on the proposed new boundaries for the three Larimer County Commissioner Districts. Comments can be e-mailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Commissioner Districts are readjusted after each census to balance representation in each district by balancing population in each district. Based on the 2010 census some minor adjustments were required. The three Districts are generally formed east-west. District 2, the center band through Larimer County had a disproportionate portion of the population based on the 2010 census so several areas from District 2 were redistricted into District 1, North County, and District 3, South County. The biggest changes are that a Larimer County portion of Windsor moves into District 3 and the LaPorte community and surrounding area moves into District 1. The town of Bellvue remains in District 2.

The proposed map is available at: http://larimer.org/bcc_boundaries.jpg.
The County at large votes on County Commissioners although each Commissioner must live in one of the three districts. Final adoption of the districts will be done in a public meeting the first week of August, to allow the Larimer County Clerk and Recorder’s Office adequate time to prepare for the 2011 general election.

In addition to e-mailing comments, the public can send comments to: Board of Larimer County Commissioners, PO Box 1190, Fort Collins, CO, 80522 or call the Commissioners Office at (970) 498-7010.
